The course is delivered over 2 days and is presented via a schedule of public dates and on an In-house basis, (we would be pleased to provide an In-house quotation, based on location and delegate numbers ~ please contact us for further information).
The re-registration examination will be a mini version of the live PRINCE2™ Practitioner paper generated each week. The candidate will be expected to show their ability to apply the PRINCE2™ method to a given scenario. Re-registration candidates will be required to answer one question only, within the one-hour time frame allowed for the exam. The exam is a written, open book paper, (PRINCE2™ manual and paper based reference materials can be utilized during the examination), taken on the last day of the course (Friday, in accordance with APMG rules and regulations).
The APM Group is Accredited by UKAS as the PRINCE2™ Certification Body in accordance with requirements of EN 45011 and ISO17024. This is the only qualification scheme aimed at Project Management professionals that has this recognition. Part of the requirements of the European Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Bodies is the need for continuous improvement.
The PRINCE2™ Examination Board has determined that all PRINCE2™ Practitioners should be re-registered within 3-5 years of their original certification. This re-registration comprises a 1-hour examination set at the same standard as the Practitioner examination.
Those who have qualified since January 2001 or have voluntarily undertaken the re-registration qualification are designated as Registered Practitioners, which enables Employers and prospective Employers to be confident with their recency of knowledge and commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
All Practitioners who have taken the PRINCE2™ Practitioner qualification since October 2000 have agreed, or are agreeing to this requirement.
Practitioners certified prior to October 2000 have the opportunity to take the re-registration examination in order to demonstrate their commitment to professional development. This is particularly important following the recent upgrading of the PRINCE2™ Manual and its greater focus on Business Case and the Management of Risk.
Should the “PRINCE2™ Registered Practitioner” certificate (currently held by the delegate) expire, the candidate is temporarily downgraded to a “PRINCE2™ Practitioner”, until the Re-registration exam is taken. The Qualification is then upgraded again to “PRINCE2™ Registered Practitioner”, assuming a pass is achieved in the exam.
Previous PRINCE2™ Practitioner examination success is a prerequisite for attending this event.
Delegates should be aware that evening preparation and consolidation is required in support of their examination preparation.
